Feb 2008 - deafZINE - A New Deaf Community
Newsletter !
We at deaf-leicester have created our 2nd deafZINE – the community magazine FOR
the deaf, created BY the deaf! The reasons behind in creating deafZINE stemmed
from the feedback we received from our readers, when the deaf-leicester website
was launched. We discovered that the majority of the deaf community had little
or no I.T. access, it meant that this website was inaccessible for some of the
deaf community, which is why we created a newsletter as well.

gallery << Well, it was not exactly the first deaf pub gathering ever in Leicester,
just that we ain't seen one for years!! Some of us deaf oldies (ahem) came up with this idea of
starting
a regular pub gathering for these old (and young of course!) deaf people,... who are either too lazy to travel beyond Leicester's boundaries
... or just plain happy to sit in front of our TV flicking through all those
fantastic free-view channels...... but we all do need to prise ourselves from our
comfy armchairs and venture to the dangerous outdoors just once in a while... so
might as well go to a pub where you will see some familiar (if
friendly!) faces...
